Unity 2 and Enterprise library configuration tool

May 4, 2010 at 6:57 AM

Hi,
Can someone show me how to use Enterprise library configuration tool with Unity2
Whatever I did, when I open the Enterprise library configuration tool, I could not have it working with a Unity config file.
To be sure, I am using a config file with the correct schema, I took one from here ( from the test project)
I saved it locally as unity.config
When I open it with the Enterprise library configuration tool, I can see only two empty blocks :

  • Applcation Settings
  • Database Settings

And when I click on the menu to add a new block, there is no Unity configuration block

What am I doing wrong?

Thank you for your help

Unity configuration was cut from the Entlib configuration tool. You're not doing anything wrong, it just doesn't do that.

It is pitty however that we cannot have a GUI configuration tool for Unity

It was a choice of waiting another 2 - 3 months before shipping or cut it. The Unity config tool just wasn't ready.

Hmm, to me it looks the whole configuration tool is just not ready. The GUI is way behind the 4.1 editor in terms of design and intuitive usage. Looks more like an WPF antipattern to me.
